Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway to be put into operation in late 2013

The government has lately announced that Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway project was supposed to be carried out under the BOT method (Building-Operating-Transferring). This will be the six-lane Level A expressway with designed speed for vehicles of 120 kilometres per hour. There will be two lanes for urgent stops.

The total investment capital for this project was estimated at about 24 trillion dong, or $1.21 billion.

The main investor for Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway project was the Infrastructure Development and Financial Investment Corp. The project will be divided into 10 main construction bidding packages and seven supporting bidding packages, to be carried out within the period of 32-36 months.

It was expected that Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway would be officially put into operation by late 2013-early 2014.
